As my new friend Willie says, there really is more to Christmas than we know! The real story is not one with Santa, Frosty, or Rudolph. It’s the story of God sending His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to earth as a little baby.
“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6 NKJV).
Christmas Explained in a Family-Friendly Way
On one amazing night long ago, a young girl named Mary was given a message from an angel. She was told she was going to have a son that would change everything!
She and her husband, Joseph, had to take a trip far from home. Since all the hotels were full, they had to sleep in a barn! But still, a King was born there. Shepherds even came to worship the baby because they knew He would save the world.
Why Jesus Came to Earth
Jesus came to earth to give His life for us.
He died on the cross for our sins and rose again from the dead.
Why We Give Gifts on Christmas
The reason we give each other presents each Christmas is because we are remembering that Jesus gave us the ultimate gift—eternal life with Him.
All you have to do is pray this prayer to receive Jesus’ gift:
Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. And I believe You died for my sins. I open the door of my heart and give my life to You as my personal Lord and Savior. Amen.
